2008 Chrysalis Awards Categories and
Request for Entry Information

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 1, 2008.
Entries will be judged and you will be notified of the results IN April, 2008.
National Awards will be announced Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in Atlanta. Regional and National awards will be presented at that time.
REGIONAL AND NATIONAL WINNERS
The Chrysalis Awards divides the country into four regional competitions that are judged separately. A National Winner will be selected from the four regional winners in each category.

2008 Project Eligibility
All projects completed after January 1, 2006 are eligible for the 2008 competition. This is a two-year window. Projects completed in that timeframe, and entered in past Chrysalis competitions, that did NOT receive a "Best Project" Award are eligible to be resubmitted. Projects entered in other competitions that fit the above eligibility requirements are also eligible to be submitted.

Entry Descriptions and Fees
REMODELERS AND DESIGNERS CAN ENTER THE AWARDS.

Remodeler Entry:
The Remodeler Entry fee is $175 for the first such entry, and $150 for each additional Remodeler Entry. Only a remodeling company can submit a Remodeler Entry. This is a project that was built by the remodeler and may, or may not, have been designed by the remodeling company.

Team Entry:
The Team Entry fee is $250 for the first such entry, and $175 for each additional Team Entry. An architect/designer, or remodeler can submit a Team Entry. This would be a project that was designed by one company, built by another, with both companies being equally recognized if the project wins. Team entries must identify a single designer and a single contractor who had primary responsibility for the construction of the project. Both the designer and the remodeler will be equally honored. Both will receive awards, both will have an individual page on the website and both will be recognized in Qualified Remodeler magazine.

The goal of the Chrysalis Awards is to recognize professionalism on all levels. Entry categories include almost every type of residential remodeling project and every price range. Small, medium, or large projects compete within their own price ranges to provide the fairest, and most comprehensive awards program in the country.

Residential Interior
(This category is for interior remodeling that is done within the existing walls of a residential structure. It can include such projects as living rooms, home offices, bedrooms and entryways, and it excludes room additions, basements, baths and kitchens.)

(Includes alterations to the exterior of a residential building such as porches, decks, dormers, columns, windows and exterior resurfacing. This category excludes projects that have added heated livable space to the home, such as room additions.)

If You Download The Chrysalis Application
If you use the downloaded application you will need to provide your own binder and clear plastic sleeves to mount photography. You can use any type of binder you like, and you can format the entry in any way you like, and you do not have to use the entry form... as long as the basic entry information is provided and the primary questions in the application are addressed.
We use clear three-pronged report covers so the category and contact information can be seen without opening it, so either use a clear cover or reproduce the key contact and entry category information on the front of the entry. We also use glossy page protectors to show the photography in it's best light. You can package the photography any way you like...including printing digital photos on good paper.

We don't disqualify entries for format deviations.
