The owners of this adobe
home wanted to restore and modify the existing home and to add family
and entertaining space with state of the art equipment. Because of the
steep hillside, the addition had to be located on the opposite end of
the house from the main entertaining area. To connect the two areas, a
galleria for an art and memorabilia collection was created along the
back of the home. A series of decks and pathways was created that lead
to a "secret garden" and connects new patios with the existing pool
area. The result of the project is a home that provides new space and
modern conveniences that the owners wanted, while maintaining the charm
of the original adobe house, and adding many new natural and unique
elements.
