If its true that the
kitchen is the heart of a home, this one was in desperate need of a
transplant. The small original kitchen in this 1970s rambler came with
dark cabinets, laminate countertops, a classic 1970s orange sink, and
the quarry tile floor was better suited to a restaurant kitchen. The
transformation was accomplished by first creating a 12 X 16 addition,
and modifying the existing trusses to create a ceiling height of 9.
Careful attention was given to indirect, task and display lighting. A
maple floor was installed, providing continuity with the rest of the
house. Full overlay cherry cabinets, granite countertops and stainless
pulls complete this great look.
