The client desired an
inviting space with a large center island to gather around as a family.
The biggest barrier to creating this design was the limited dimension of
the space. It wasn’t wide enough to house an island. The clients were
leery about losing their walk-in pantry, but it was ultimately the way
to give them what they wanted. The pantry was absorbed into the
footprint of the kitchen, and we incorporated tall, shallow cabinets
behind the island to make up for the lost storage space. The client
ended up with a kitchen she and her family absolutely love!
