This project was the
remodeling and updating of a master bathroom. The floor plan remained
basically the same, but all existing cabinetry, fixtures, fitting and
tile was removed. A partition wall was removed from the shower/toilet
room and the shower was enlarged. The toilet was relocated under the
window and angled corners were removed from the vanity wall. A unique
look was achieved by the use of sliding metal-framed divided doors with
opaque glass. This provides privacy to the shower/toilet area and gives
the effect of Shoji screens for a contemporary spa-like feeling to the
bath. They are also a nod to the homeowner’s Asian heritage. The result
is a lovely contemporary bathroom with a relaxing Zen-like atmosphere.
