The
addition provided a complementary, yet dramatic, soaring building form
that closely related to the existing home’s sculptural massing and
geometry. The solution’s external design took its cues from the existing
home’s 45 degree thrusting cross gables. The interior space featured a
fireplace that, beyond purely pragmatic and utilitarian purposes of
generating warmth, was a visually stunning centerpiece for the room.
Special flower vase accents enhanced the fireplace mantel the other 90%
of the time it was sans fire.
