This home theater was
created from what was a second family room in the home. The family’s
desire was to find a way to use this room for a complete movie
experience. By incorporating all architectural speakers, both in-ceiling
and in-wall, and using some of the equipment room space to house a
projector and mirror assembly they were able to deliver an enormous 92”
screen built flush into the wall with controlled eight-channel surround
sound, while maintaining a clean look to the room. The most unique
aspect of the project is the immense screen. Normally a 92” screen would
need a projector placed 13-14 feet away, and ambient light will ruin the
picture quality. Thanks to a robust mirror assembly, and high-grade rear
projection glass for a screen, this same picture size was accomplished
using only 48” of space behind the screen. This screen can be viewed
from all angles and is not adversely affected by lights in the room,
making it a truly versatile display.
