Lehman's needed
additional retail space to accommodate their growing business. They were
very clear that the project had to be sensitive to the values of the
rural community situated in a largely Amish and Mennonite setting. It
was also important that the project be accomplished in an
environmentally sensitive manner. A third requirement was to preserve
the store's reputation as a must-see destination where people experience
the past in a museum-like setting. To turn their dreams into reality,
Green Ridge Builders was hired as construction manager for
pre-construction services as well as general contractor for the
construction. The design that developed consists of 14,000 square feet
of remodeling and a 12,000 square foot addition.
