After a
motor vehicle accident, the existing bath in this house was no longer
practical for the husband. The goal was to design a bath that would
accommodate the husband and provide a warm and inviting environment for
the couple. The shower wall adjacent to the cased opening was reframed
for a larger doorway. A walk-in tub was selected for necessity, utility
and comfort. The husband’s vanity cabinetry was redesigned for greater
access and additional storage. A Lift Seat was installed, along with a
grab bar in the toilet area. The changes in this bathroom met the needs
of the clients by removing obstacles and providing a space convenient
for access using a wheelchair. The modern, functional fixtures and
updated design have improve the quality of life and helped these clients
enjoy the bath with more autonomy in a warm inviting space which now
completes their master suite.
