The family found the room configurations did not work for their lifestyle. In this remodel, the basic focus was reallocating the use of each room to give them more function, and then design a finish solution to keep the rooms from feeling old or inappropriate. To solve the problems, the formal living room (which was never used) became the family room, the old dining room was too small and became the nook and the old family room was split into the dining and sitting areas.
