After a fire caused major
damage to this home, the kitchen was redesigned larger but with the same
layout. This kitchen features a "stacked box" cabinet design, with flat
panel doors, a stain and paint combination, obscure glass doors in the
upper cabinets, solid surface tops with glass mosaic backsplash, and
mixed use of hardware. The island sets apart by using a stainless steel
top and different hardware. The lime green walls and cantaloupe island
colors are reversed in the laundry room. Stainless appliances are given
a new emphasis with the glass hood. Light, eco-friendly, bamboo flooring
and pendant lighting round out the design. From the physical and
emotional loss caused by fire, a unique contemporary kitchen, both
colorful and inviting, has been created.
