The garage in this 1940’s
home was about to fall in, it was too small for today’s SUV’s, it had no
storage area and the homeowners were not protected from the elements
while going to the car. The most critical element for the owners was
that the addition be a seamless transition to the original home. To
accomplish this, elements were carried from the original house such
as…board & batten siding, iron rail, decorative rafter tails, door
muntin arrangement and weathered brick. The garage doors were also
designed to match the style of the house, while also letting in some
daylight. Copper roofing was the solution to a necessary low-pitched
roof, and covered access was added.
