The owners of this 1940’s ranch wanted to convert a small, cramped, out-dated kitchen into a bright, family-friendly gathering place that was also customized to meet the cook’s requirements for comfort while working in the space. The project included maximizing storage areas in the island and pantry located under a new stairway. The contractor removed interior walls to expand the space and provide great circulation around the island. Natural light was incorporated using larger windows over the prep area and installing a skylight. Well thought-out space planning provided the owners with the maximum amount of storage for their needs.
