Oxoboxo Lofts in Uncasville, CT transforms a
long-vacant, historic 19th-century mill complex on the Oxoboxo Brook into 72
unique and affordable apartments for a range of income levels.
By
preserving original brick, timber, and historic details, the project blends
industrial character with modern comfort. Major environmental cleanup and
structural upgrades, including work over an active brook, turned a
challenging site into a safe, vibrant residential community. Thoughtfully
carried out design and energy-efficient systems make each apartment bright,
distinctive, and comfortably livable.
This award-winning
redevelopment shows how historic buildings can be reimagined to meet today’s
housing needs while honoring their past.
