National Award Kitchen Remodel $75,000 - $100,000
The previous kitchen might have been
eye-catching and cool when first built in 1965, but decades later, was a
worn-out failure. It did not serve the homeowner's needs nor aesthetic.
A practical and functional design was most important, along with
honoring the home’s Mid-Century Modern roots. The homeowners’ needs for
storage, circulation and function were met by repurposing an odd,
underused sitting area and adding a long, function-packed island. The
bar was reworked into a whimsical and hardworking entertainment hub,
while the overall kitchen aesthetic, inspired by a beloved painting, is
exactly the “wow” “kitchen experience” the homeowners dreamed of.
