On April 17th 1999, a
fire broke out at Glennwood Apartments. The downstairs unit of one
apartment had to be completely renovated with new cabinets, countertops,
appliances, wall and floor covering and all sheet rock and insulation.
The brick on the front of the building was severely damaged by heat and
smoke, and was a pattern that had not been manufactured for at least
seven years. The front of the building’s exterior siding and trim were
replaced with vinyl siding and vinyl and metal trim matching the
existing color almost to perfection. The brick was removed and then
cleaned to be re-used along with several other cubes of brick from which
the best matching colors were selected. By setting and adhering to a
tight production schedule, the units were ready in seven weeks…half the
		adjusters’ original estimate.
