The
desire for sanctuary transformed this 1980’s, T1-11 Ranch into a
contemporary, Zen cottage. Nestled in an old growth forest, two blocks
from Lake Michigan…we combined understated lines with bold forms to
emphasize a seamless flow of indoor/outdoor spaces. Exposed concrete
columns and corrugated steel combine with a standard shingle roof line to
marry “cutting edge” with cutting costs. Hardipanel and Azek board &
batten, high efficiency windows, recycled timbers and a carefully
designed thermal envelope offer a low maintenance, eco-friendly design.
