 Although this project was challenged to provide the largest possible addition to a post-war starter home, it was also important to maintain the scale and context of an established neighborhood. The project accomplished those goals by placing the perimeter walls along the applicable setback lines while utilizing various design strategies to prevent the addition from appearing to be too large. Equally important, the addition provides the family with multiple spaces that are filled with light and offer views into the rear yard. These features increase the sense of space and make the rooms delightful for daily living.
