This family was
downsizing from a very large house to a much smaller French Colonial on
a small urban lot. To make this home work, a larger master suite, as
well as the addition of informal living and dining spaces were needed,
along with a kitchen remodel. The project, while reflecting the style,
scale and features of the existing home, is quite eclectic and
well-fitted to the owners belongings and lifestyle. This old-home
addition required invention and ingenuity, from the overall design
through the handling of less-than-usual materials and details, to the
successful execution of the ideas presented by an artistically visionary
homeowner. Every space and surface is well-thought-out and crafted in
delightful ways to accommodate a piece of the family's special history.
