This project began 
		without the intention of achieving the goal of Platinum certification 
		with the USGBC LEED for homes program, however this became the first 
		Platinum Whole House remodel in Michigan, and the fifth in the entire 
		nation. The design solution entailed a demo of a partially collapsing 
		rear portion of the existing building, salvage of the materials for 
		repurposing, and the addition of a new basement, first floor and second 
		floor in ÒTÓ-like fashion on the rear. With green features including ICF 
		basement, AFT, SPF, Geo-thermal heating and cooling, on-demand water 
		heating, PEX manifold water distribution, on average this 1,900 sq. ft. 
		home is heating and cooling for $45 per month.
