Having lived with an
outdated and unaccommodating bathroom since buying the home- one in
which the materials originally used could not withstand mold, despite
continuous cleaning efforts- the client had had enough. The request was
for a 'spa like retreat' whereby the style and design 'exuded a sense of
calmness and peace.' To accomplish their vision, the free standing tub
was to be the focal point of the room, surrounded by matching parson
styled washstands. The size of the shower was expanded and included
additional features to accommodate the needs and wants of both husband
and wife. To create the spa like effect body jets as well as multiple
shower heads were utilized in the shower. High quality, modern fixtures
such as a hard wired heated towel rack and marble flooring were also
desired, as was the need for unique intricacies that would add a level
of sophisticated detail. Only the highest grade materials and products
were used, while staying underneath the client's set budget of $30,000
and completing the job for $29,400.
