2006 Best Whole House Remodel
Under $200,000
This was a second level
addition done in a non-traditional manner that almost doubled the size
of the living space with a no-maintenance exterior. It provided for a
growing family with additional bedrooms and bathrooms all on one level.
This allowed for reconfiguration of the existing forst floor, opening
unrealized space. This fulfilled a childhood dream of a young mother to
have her Victorian dollhouse one day become her real home. Drastic
restyling changed a Cape Cod into a Second Empire Victorian even when
limited by height restrictions of the local zoning board, weather and
financial considerations.
