The clients wanted a
master bathroom suite with sharp, clean surfaces, but also a space that
would elevate the spirit and be more than just a collection of expensive
fixtures. The architect's design, by Andrew Reck of Oak Hill Architects,
Inc., required extremely close tolerances, and needed to be done in a
series of phases. The challenge was to accomplish each phase without
damaging any of the surfaces completed in previous phases. Access doors
were located in remote locations in closets and adjacent rooms. As color
and texture were key elements of the design, the highest quality closed
grain finish of the wood paneling was ensured by spraying multiple coats
of lacquer on site.
