2009 Best Residential Interior

From dark and outdated, to a bright new space that visually expands to the outdoor gardens and pool, this interior showcases an eclectic collection of art and a unique new dining room. Access to the dining room was achieved by removing a portion of the existing chimney, while a bluestone wall creates a focal point. This modern space includes re-sawn timber woodwork, two stone fireplaces, and a recycled bakery table that rendered the aroma of baking cookies during the resurfacing process. Tom DeAngelo, FAIA, was the architect, while John B.A. Idstrom II of Partners 4 Design provided the kitchen design.
