This kitchen's
contemporary update included exchanging a peninsula in favor of an
island for better function and circulation. Freezer drawers in the
island near the table provide convenient access to ice. The kitchen
features clean lines and a few curved elements to add interest, allowing
the rich green-blue iridescent granite to take center stage. Across from
the island, two tall pantries flank a small display area. Cabinets with
reeded glass inserts provide a glimpse of shapes and reveal the merest
sparkle of crystal. The lower area is open and lit to showcase some of
the homeowners' art glass collection.
