This 1,200 sf accessory
dwelling unit (ADU) is a new home for the property owners' adult son to
support them as they age in place with dignity, providing for everyone's
privacy and wellness. Primary to the Biophilic Design of this project is
rich interaction between interior living spaces and the mature
landscaping and natural cycles of the site's existing garden, taking
full advantage of the site's Northern California Mediterranean climate.
The Project Team's long-term hope for the client is that this space
provides a sanctuary of slow living in an ever-accelerating world.
