This is a quintessential
1927 craftsman in the heart of the Hyde Park neighborhood, a National
and Local Historic District in Central Austin. The scope of the 2014
renovation included modernizing and updating the original 1,200 square
foot bungalow, while adding on a second story to accommodate a master
suite and family room in a way that ensured that the home retained its
contributing status as part of the Historic District. The end result is
a beautiful blending of old and new, historic and modern. The project
earned the City of Austin’s first tax abatement approval under the new
Remodeling Tax Abatement program, has been featured in several local
magazines, and will be the spotlight in an upcoming HGTV magazine
edition.
