The homeowners wanted to
update their 1880s farmhouse to accommodate their modern lifestyle while
retaining and enhancing the home’s original charm. The project is a
balanced mix of rustic and refined details, featuring reclaimed barn
beams, coffered ceilings, white custom cabinetry, fieldstone, and
character-grade hickory flooring. The remodel touched almost the entire
first floor – the greeting room, kitchen, dining room, library, sunroom,
and other areas. Along with the interior changes, the home’s exterior
was updated. The exterior changes and addition look as if they’ve always
been there, with reclaimed materials and attention to the home’s
original, simple details.
