On March 21, 1997
disaster struck the home of Mr. Leroy Tolbert when fire destroyed the
interior of the structure. Every room in the house was completely gutted
down to the stud walls. The home was completely renovated within two
months. The once dark and outdated kitchen became a bright, warm, modern
and efficient centerpiece of the home. The roof system and shingles were
replaced, the old wood windows were replaced with insulated vinyl
windows, all of the exterior cornice was covered with aluminum and vinyl
to make this a maintenance free home for years to come.
As Ralph says, "my personal goal for this project was to take this ugly,
fire damaged home and rebuild it into a beautiful, almost-new-again
home." It appears that Ralph has a good working definition of the word
"Chrysalis".
