The original basement
finish had to be removed and new entertainment, playroom, bedroom,
storage and bathroom areas constructed. The clearance under the floor
joist was about 7’4" and under some of the duct work it was as low as
6’6". To make the low ceiling appear higher, they lowered the
wainscoting down several inches below what they would normally install
and installed detailed framing at the transition hallway between the
entertainment area and the bedroom/bathroom areas. The results must have
been great…they are doing another project for this homeowner, and
through referrals have signed two additional contracts.
