The goal was to enlarge a
small kitchen to create a room suitable for entertaining yet practical
for family gatherings. To increase the space, the laundry room was moved
downstairs and replaced with a built-in seating area and table. Adding a
window in this area brightened the kitchen and added a visual connection
with the outdoors. Crown moulding was installed at the ceiling and
helped conceal the inconsistencies in the floor and ceiling levels. The
combination of decorative light fixtures, under-cabinet lighting, bull
granite backsplashes, and rich wood create a warm and inviting kitchen
for friends and family gatherings.
