This previously
unfinished basement is located in a large high-end home, decorated in a
formal manner. While the rest of the home was extremely formal and well
suited to business entertaining, they wanted a less formal space where
they could bring their close friends and family. Girders were concealed
as much as possible by judicious choices of wall locations, and duct
work was concealed in a way that helps to define the separate spaces and
adds to the overall look. The wife has a craft room where she scrapbooks
with her friends, as well as a full office. There is a bar area, TV
area, billiards area, full exercise room and a full bath with a steam
shower.
