A cramped kitchen and
treacherous stairwell were upgraded by slightly expanding the footprint
and bumping out 36 square feet. Adding a new refrigerator, stainless
range, hood and backsplash and an eating bar made the kitchen more
inviting and utilitarian. An arched doorway is consistent with
architectural details in the rest of the home, and now the hallway
stretches the whole length of the house, lending a feeling of openness.
Recessed lighting, stone countertops, cherry lower cabinets, off-white
upper cabinets, and a farmhouse sink add to the warm mood created by
soft lighting and deep red-orange walls.
