The client wanted to
create a space that was technologically advanced, yet warm and inviting
with comfortable theater seating and soundproofing. To achieve the
proper drama and perspective, a 12-seat home theater haven was created
as part of a larger addition to their existing home. This theater’s
dynamic ambience derives from the combination of several strategically
designed details, from the custom millwork ceiling feature, backlit
stained glass, remote controlled theater curtains to the fiber optic
night sky lighting. To provide an added sound transmission barrier, the
entire room was lined with Accoustiblock sound proofing material during
the framing process. The custom crafted millwork ceiling with the
twinkling star effect set the stage for this home theater. The fiber
optic ceiling was created by placing fiber optic lamps in the attic and
then pulling clusters through pre-drilled holes.
