The
design of this kitchen is simple and functional, coordinating
straightforward forms and slight adornment only when necessary, however,
it is the combination of elements that make it impressive. It is from
the entry, from the dining room, or from outside that you can truly
appreciate the space for what it is: simple, beautiful, light and
strong.
The
island is great for circulation and was made possible by the removal of
one crucial wall. With a space so geared for entertaining, clean up just
got a little easier. The island has a central sink, with two wings that
pivot off this point, one towards prep and one towards cooking.
A
restricting peninsula was removed and replace by a larger island for
more prep space. The new white cabinetry was a cheery improvement over
the original dark cabinets. A new lighting plan and new windows make the
kitchen functional for any time of day.
