When DuPage Children’s
Museum suffered massive flood damage, bringing the original
architect-exhibit designer and contractor onboard was critical to the
six month reopening date. With insurance and schedule key challenges,
familiarity with the building’s complexities was advantageous.
Architecture Is Fun and Graycor Construction designed at high speed,
phased construction, maintained safety and structural integrity, and
stayed true to the “original” high quality learning facility.
Collaboratively, the team re-branded the unique learning experiences,
re-addressed staff needs, designed sustainable environments, added art
and beauty, and re-opened the museum’s big red doors with an eye to the
future – on time and on budget.
