The
project included renovation of the kitchen and 2 existing baths, the
addition of a bedroom and 3rd bathroom through a 1-story addition over
the garage, a 2-story rear addition for the family room, kitchen and
master suite, and conversion of the existing rec room back into a
garage. The new floor plan allows traffic flow from front door to family
room/kitchen to dining area. The new kitchen has multiple prep-zones
with plenty of counter space and task lighting. The laundry room also
serves as a mudroom entrance. Adding space was a challenge because of
the property’s set back restriction. The small rear addition added space
for the first floor family room and kitchen, as well as the second floor
master suite. The rest of the space was added to the existing footprint
of the house, renovating the existing space or adding space to the
second floor. Every space served a purpose, even the attic was designed
as a safe playroom. Working closely with the sub-contractors and the
architect, we were able to obtain LEED certification for the project.
