2014 Outdoor Living
As a
seven-person family, the homeowners wanted to increase the amount of
usable functional space by adding this screen porch. The goal was to
provide outdoor living area where children could play as parents
watched, or adults could retreat for a meal and quiet time. They wanted
it to be light, airy, and full of design details. They also wanted to
balance the open feel with the fact that it was to be a private space in
a neighborhood of closely positioned houses. The new porch adds valuable
functional space that can be used to spend time together or to provide a
convenient getaway.
