This
beach condo is a weekend getaway for a professional couple. The clients
desired a more modern kitchen and the husband, an avid body surfer,
wanted the design to better accommodate his arrival home from the beach
in full wetsuit attire.
Space planning was essential to the success of the layout in this
compact space. Appliances are at a smaller scale than usual and
cabinetry was kept minimal and spare. Creative storage methods support
the sleek, contemporary aesthetic. The new kitchen achieves a casual
feeling in line with a getaway destination and communicates the
homeowners’ fresh, uncomplicated point of view.
