Sitting at the table with
the owner at the first design presentation we could see an investor
transform into a client right before our eyes. At the first meeting to
discuss renovation versus demolition, the client had an epiphany and
decided right then and there to not only renovate the house, but that
they should uproot from a beautiful riverside home in a nearby suburb to
live in this house in one of the best feeling neighborhoods in Atlanta.
We had three goals for the property: Add a historically proportioned
front porch to engage the neighborhood, use the porch to correct the
perceived proportion of the house, and create resort-feeling
indoor/outdoor space for entertaining.
