eyesore into a handsome neighborhood landmark, creating a mixed-use
project with ground floor commercial and high-end apartments on the two
upper floors.
The building contributes to the city’s “sense of place” by repurposing
the historic structure. It is attracting the next generation of city
residents, is providing affordable space to small business start-ups,
and is producing the client’s desired income stream.
The apartments include numerous sustainable features and incorporate LED
lighting and Energy Star fixtures and appliances. The project saved
historic and architecturally distinctive features inside and out.
