This kitchen was the
final step in a long course of remodels to update the client’s entire
home. The kitchen, built in 1995, was filled with chunky cabinets, black
granite, and large wood shutters. The space was dark, crowded, and a
large peninsula visually (and literally!) separated the kitchen from the
adjacent breakfast nook, wine room, and living room, spaces the clients
frequently utilized for entertaining. This remodel modernized and
brightened the kitchen, made it more cohesive with and accessible to the
surrounding areas, and symbolized a “finish line” to years of remodeling
we had done to modernize their home.
