Restoration National Award Winner
When an
electrical fire damaged much of Saint Nikola Serbian Orthodox Church,
Kelmann Corporation was asked to begin the restoration process before an
estimate was completed. The sanctuary suffered the most damage. Fire and
smoke damaged the very important inconostas screen, the Bishop’s throne
and cantor stand, all of which had been imported from Greece and Serbia.
Despite code updates, one hundred-year-old construction techniques, very
specific religious requirements and a desire to get the church restored
as quickly as possible, Kelmann was able to bring the project in under
insurance policy limits.
