The main goal was to transform this kitchen into an
updated, open, cohesive and distinctive space aesthetically. It also
needed to be convenient and enjoyable for cooking and entertaining. To
alleviate the closed-in nature of the area, three rooms were combined
intone large room and opened up to the front hall, dining room and den.
A bar and wine storage was installed, as well as an island with seating
for 3 people. A new bay window provides the desired deep windowsill by
the sink and makes the kitchen brighter. Light-colored marble counters
and backsplash also help to brighten the kitchen. Custom cabinetry and a
distinctive island and range hood cover add character. These items, and
the kitchen as a whole, beautifully merge style and utility. This room
is now inviting and conducive to entertaining.
