Plans for remodeling this
couple’s lakeside cabin were set aside when the husband passed away. A
year later, his wife decided to go forward with the project, but wanted
to retain the elements of the original home for both practical and
sentimental reasons. Keeping these things in mind, a multi-level lake
home with two wings was designed utilizing the original cabin as one of
the wings. The focal point would be a two-level addition at the center.
The roofline of the original cabin was raised to harmonize with the
steeper pitch of the new addition. The fireplace chimney was extended
and resurfaced with simulated stone to match the exterior of the chimney
at the new addition. This is truly a magnificent transformation, and
will provide this family with many more years of great lakeside
		memories.
