The owner has lived in
this 1965 split-entry home for over 25 years. Her home, while neat and
tidy, had not been updated since 1985. She wanted the home to have a
facelift and a new lease on life. The project included replacing the
small confined kitchen with a larger open one; creating a large modern
master bath, with an eye on aging in place; and making the exterior of
the home more inviting. This project honors the existing home and
neighborhood. All changes spoke to keeping the continuity with the rest
of the 1960s homes in the neighborhood. Results are akin to tasteful
plastic surgery.
