The clients requested a
theater with a large seating capacity of 40 for private screenings. An
existing 1,200 sq. ft. sport court with a viewing area became the new
theater. The viewing area was converted into a mini-foyer with genuine
movie memorabilia posters. New hardwood floor, a standup counter for
computers, munchies, and an old-fashioned popcorn machine, add to its
charm. Overcoming reverberation and acoustic challenges, installing a
built-in vacuum system, and a raised floor sump-pump system to avoid
water intrusion, show ingenuity in craftsmanship. The finished product
provides a near acoustically perfect room for this level VI large custom
home theater with comfortable seating on custom-built sofas.
