The homeowners live in this beautiful 1915 historical residence. The existing kitchen was installed in the 1960’s and was badly in need of remodeling. the goal was to create a fabulous family gathering space that conformed to the style and architecture of the house. Special sensitivity was needed to keep the exterior of the residence in keeping with the architectural period of the home.

A new two-cook kitchen was relocated into the new addition and a nook with banquette and office were placed in the old kitchen location.

The garage addition, done in the 80’s, was poorly designed. To seamlessly integrate the new addition, the roof pitch was modified and the over-hangs were altered to ensure the new roof blends into one plane with the garage roof.

The exterior view from the backyard pool was enhanced through the use of a soft arch and finished columns to create an outdoor covered veranda below the kitchen.
