Restoration
A fire that started in a
detached garage quickly spread to the main house. A misunderstanding of
whether the home was in the county or city limits let to a delay in
emergency response and this extra time led to the total destruction of
the garage and burned the roof off the main house. Well as so often
happens, the renovation became the opportunity to rebuild with all the
"dream" ideas they had always wanted to incorporate. These included
adding a second floor addition and guest room wing for their two boys,
tripling the size of the kitchen to include more natural light, a large
cooking island and concealed home office, and vaulting the ceilings in
the living room and dining room. The project changed their original
single story family home into a beautiful two story "dream" home.
