This
complete home remodel really embodied what renovation is all about. The
home was originally built in 1913 and had been added onto in patches
over the years. It was definitely due for updates both in construction
and in finishes. What it lacked originally in design, it more than made
up for with its location in a very desirable neighborhood and views of
the water and mountains from both floors of the house.
We were able to completely remodel the interior (and some exterior) to
capture those site specific bonuses as well as create an open floor plan
that blended modern design with the character of the house, lending it a
personality that was completely unique yet felt natural to the home.
Some of the features included the aforementioned newly opened floor
plan, restructured and redesigned master suite, a modernized kitchen,
and a new entry complete with grand staircase (old one was not to code
and basically inside a closet) and added space for impact, function, and
exterior hierarchy.
